Install DataMint using Terminal

Install DataMint on your Mac using a single Terminal command. The installer will automatically set up everything you need.

Copy the commandCopy the installation command provided on this page.
Open TerminalPress Cmd + Space, search for Terminal, and open it.
Paste & installPaste the command into Terminal and press Enter. The setup usually takes around 30 seconds.

Load the DataMint Chrome Extension

Connect DataMint to Chrome by loading the extension and signing in with your registered email.

Open ChromeLaunch Google Chrome and go to chrome://extensions.
Turn on Developer ModeEnable Developer mode from the top-right corner.
Load the extensionClick Load unpacked and select the DataMint extension folder (~/DataMint/Extension).
Sign inOpen DataMint from Chrome and sign in with your registered email.

Yes. The installer automatically downloads the universal macOS binary compiled to run natively on Apple Silicon chips (M1, M2, M3, M4) as well as Intel-based Macs on macOS 12 Monterey or newer.

How do I launch DataMint after closing Terminal?

The install command automatically generates a double-clickable shortcut named 'DataMint.command' directly on your Desktop. Whenever you want to run DataMint, simply double-click that file. It starts the local agent in under two seconds.

What if macOS displays a security or developer verification warning?

Because DataMint is a developer-unpacked local tool, if macOS displays a warning on first launch, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section, and click 'Open Anyway'. You only ever need to do this once.

How do I update DataMint on Mac when a new version comes out?

Updating is instant: simply run the exact same installation command in your Terminal. It safely pulls the latest engine and extension files without deleting your local settings or API keys.
