Social Media Scraper
Social platforms are some of the richest lead sources in most markets - businesses list phones, emails, and websites on their pages that their own websites don’t even show. Right now DataMint scrapes Facebook (pages + group members), with Instagram and LinkedIn coming soon as additional platforms in this same guide.
Both Facebook tools run through your logged-in session in Chrome - no passwords entered anywhere, no separate account.
Public Page Scraping
Have a column of Facebook links? The Public Page Scraping preset (under Have Facebook Profile in the preset picker) opens each page in your logged-in Chrome and pulls structured business data out of it.
What It Extracts
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Page/profile name |
| Page type | Business, person, etc. |
| Phone | Listed phone number |
| Website | External website link |
| Listed email address | |
| Address | Location, where shown |
| Category | Page category |
| About | The About/description text |
| Followers | Follower/like count |
Requirements
- ✅ Desktop app running
- ✅ LLM API key configured (Set Up Your API Keys)
- ✅ Logged into Facebook in the same Chrome profile as the extension
- The source column must contain facebook.com links (page or profile URLs)
How to Use
- Get Facebook links into a column - see collecting links below.
- Run the Public Page Scraping preset on that column - start with Run first 10 to sanity-check results.
- Extracted fields fill the column; the (i) tooltip shows what the AI found.
After scraping, feed the discovered Website column into the finders - see Find Business Contacts.
Collecting Facebook Links
You need Facebook URLs in a column before you can scrape them. Three ways to get them:
1. Epic Scraper (any website)
The Epic Scraper works on any page that lists Facebook links - directories, “our partners” pages, association member lists:
- Open the page listing the businesses/links you want.
- Scan for tables, pick the right candidate with the green overlay, and send it to the Data Table.
- If the table has a column of facebook.com URLs, you’re ready to run Public Page Scraping on it.
2. Google Search (Serper)
Run Google Search on your business names with the social or linkedin template - results include Facebook page URLs. Details: Google Search.
3. Import / Paste
Have a list already? Import the CSV or paste it in - headers become columns. See Manage Data Table.
Group Members Scraping
Facebook groups - buy/sell groups, local business communities, industry groups - are member lists of pre-qualified leads. DataMint can export the member list of a group into your Data Table.
How It Works
- Enable it first: in the DataMint side panel, open Platform Settings and turn on the Facebook Group Members toggle (it carries a
[DEV]label - it’s the newest scraper and gets the most frequent changes). - Open the Facebook group’s members page in Chrome (
facebook.com/groups/<group>/members). - As you browse/scroll the member list, DataMint captures the member data Facebook loads in the background - up to 8 columns of member info per row.
- A floating DataMint button appears on the page - click it to send everything captured so far straight to your Data Table.
Tips
- Scroll to load more members - Facebook loads members in batches as you scroll; DataMint captures what has loaded.
- Send in chunks - scroll, click the floating button, scroll more, send again; imports append as rows.
- After exporting, run Public Page Scraping on the member profiles that link to pages, or push names through the decision-maker playbook.
Coming Soon: Instagram & LinkedIn
The Platform Settings in the DataMint side panel already show these as Soon cards - the scrapers are under development:
- Instagram Scraper - business profiles, bios, contact links
- LinkedIn Scraper - company pages and profiles
- Facebook Pages Scraper - the dedicated bulk version of page scraping
When they ship, this guide extends with each platform’s fields and requirements - the workflow stays the same: get links → run the scraper → enrich in the Data Table.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Page scraping returns empty everywhere | You’re logged out of Facebook - log in and retry |
| Some profiles return little data | They’re private/locked - that’s expected |
| Group members not being captured | Check the toggle in Platform Settings is on, and refresh the tab once |
| Floating button doesn’t appear | Refresh the members page - the content script needs to attach |
| Source column rejected | The preset needs facebook.com URLs in the source column |
| Runs feel stuck | LLM pacing (3 rows at a time) - see Run Controls |
